We love history, but are not military history buffs, so we weren't sure what to expect at this museum. We ended up really loving it! The museum's main focus is telling the story of Leavenworth from its roots as a frontier outpost to the main...More

The Frontier Army Museum has greatly improved since my last two visits. There are now more exhibits setting key periods in the history of the frontier army in context. Best of all, weapons and equipment are now placed in settings with life-sized figures that give...More

We very much enjoyed our tour of the Frontier Army Museum. This museum is very well done and provides an excellent picture of what life was like for our military during the frontier and early settlement days. Lots of authentic displays and personal testimonies/ stories.

The Frontier Army Museum at Fort Leavenworth is an excellent place to learn about the history of the Army in the area and the history of the westward movement of people in the U.S.

We came to the museum expecting to spend about an hour. We could have used about 2 hours, but unfortunately for us, it was closing time after an hour. Great early military history and a recent addition of a Lewis & Clark exhibit. Allow about...More

Very disappointing: we were refused entrance to the fort in a rather rude way because we're from Europe so don't have an US id (which as we all know is a guarantee for safety and good behavior - not). Maybe some warning in advance on...More
