Right now where there was a flood the park has some downfalls due to all of the debris and the trash left from the flood water. Other than that it is a wonderful park.

We visited the falls when it was wet and rainy. There was a lot of water in the river and the falls had a LOT of water going over them. The gift shop is very good and not expensive.

My wife and I visited this unique beautiful hotel. It's a little drive from Louisville area. But it's worth the drive. The views of the falls and hiking are wonderful. The hotel is in need of an update to carpet and rooms. The restaurant was...More

This park is consistently a great place to visit. The falls are fantastic and easily accessible. There are many great places to enjoy a picnic. Plenty of well maintained trails. The lower overlook is such a great view of the falls. They have a gift...More

The falls were roaring on April 22 with all the rain we were having. Those who braved the rain and the slippery steps were rewarded with fantastic views! The hike isn't long to see the falls, and it is worth it!

We were heading back from a weekend to Tennessee and stopped at Cumberland Falls. It had rained 2 days prior to our visit so the falls were huge and powerful. It was worth the detour to see them.

One of my favorite places to visit in the state of KY! I still have not seen the moon bow; but it's on my bucket list! Quiet, peaceful & tranquil place top visit!

Apparently the days before we arrived, the area received a LOT of rain. Four of the hiking trails were closed due to high water, so we couldn't explore the area much, but the falls were quite impressive! There is a tremendous amount of power in...More

How far of a hike is it

I'd say you can see the top of the falls in less than a quarter mile hike. The bottom of the falls is down a number of flights of stairs, so the distance is probably less daunting than the climb back up after viewing....

Not sure what you're asking. the trails are open at night because that's when the moonbow is out. the trails are clear, well marked and more like packed walkways. There are people out, but it's of course, always safer in a... More
