This memorial to Kentuckians killed in Vietnam is a giant sundial whose shadows fall on every name on the anniversary of that soldier's death.

This is a great memorial for anyone wanting to see something unique and tells a story at the same time. The sundial is a great idea and you can also make a chalk outline of any relative that served in the Vietnam War.

We were amazed at the grace and peacefulness of this honored place. The sundial is perfect at this site. Great job to the designers. It's very humbling and the view of the Capitol makes it perfect

Probably the coolest memorial I've ever seen. It's a sundial and it is designed so that the tip of the dial shades a name of a Kentucky Vietnam veteran who was killed in service on the anniversary of his death. Just so amazing how it...More

We visited this wonderful memorial in May. "The blue-gray granite plaza of the Memorial contains the names of Kentucky’s 1105 citizens who died. Each name is precisely located so the shadow of the sundial pointer touches each veteran’s name on the anniversary of his death"....More

This is a wonderful memorial. Amazing how the sun shades the soldiers that passed at each hour, each day, each month.
