This was suggested to us by the gentlemen in the military museum down the street. $4 admission gets you into 3 sites....this one, the military museum and the old capitol building . Best bargain around. Their displays are very well done and comprehensive. For families with munchkins there are scores of interactive exhibits that will keep them engaged. Just a... More

When we arrived we weren't sure what to expect, but I can say our family was quite surprised! The admission price for us to go in was quite reasonable. The information you will read may surprise you about the history of Kentucky. It was cool how interactive the exhibits were. The only complaint our family had was that since it... More

Kentucky history at its best is found here. This is a self guided experience so you can take as much time as you like or as little. But somehow you get caught up in your travel through time and enjoy every minute of it learning as you go.

I was going through town and saw this and stopped. Well worthwhile. $4 to get. The exhibits start with information from thousands of years ago and goes up to present. very interesting exhibits, with items and facts from the time. Be sure to go to the hall of governors and see painted plus a brief historical bio of each governor... More

We visited and spent 3 hours. Tracing Kentucky history primarily from colonial time forward. There were good exhibits about the settlement of Kentucky, crops, bourbon, the depression, coal mining, the civil war, slavery, Kentucky industry and music. There are holes but cannot be avoided given Kentucky's varied and interesting history. There was an additional exhibit of attic finds. The museum... More

We was in Kentucky at Shriner's for children. We decide to go to Frankfort to see this center. We was not let down, the staff of the center was great. There was a gentleman that gave us a tour of the Old State Capital, he was great. I can not remember his name, but he was a volunteer. He knows... More

Our schedule did not allow for a proper visit. I am including this review because even though I could stay as long as I wanted to - I can report it is a must visit, well done, and I will be back on my next visit. I did not appreciate this in my schedule planning - don't make the mistake... More

The fee was $4 for adults, that includes the museum, a guide(well informed) that takes you to the old capital building, and entrance into the Kentucky military history museum. All had air conditioning.
