Not sure if this is the place for this review, but we took the historic home walking tour with author David Domini and it was great. There are other reviews on his tours with good descriptions of the sights. David is knowledgable and a great guide around this fabulous neighborhood.

I always thought of Victorian architecture as lap siding and gingerbread. Not in Old Louisville! What a treat to drive through this 45-block area, viewing incredible homes and garden spaces. This area is the third largest conservation area in the US. There are pretty pedestrian alleyways connecting blocks and fountains in boulevards. Watch for the carved statue of the lamplighter,... We drove around during the weekday when their isn't so much traffic it is worth seeing all the old homes and churches along the way. The University and the speed museum is in the area also. I believe if you walk and park you would enjoy the homes more, but it is a must to see old Louisville .

Old Louisville has a collection of beautiful homes. It’s definitely worth a walk through, or a drive through to see the historical homes and architecture in this area.

These are remarkable old homes and worth a walk around the area for everyone. Some of the homes are open some of the time though we did not get to do this. You can easily spend an hour walking the few blocks and admiring a lifestyle from a different era.

The St. James Place area is one of the most beautiful historical neighborhoods anywhere! House after house of amazing victorian eclectic archetecture, beautifully kept lawns and mini gardens,,,,we even manged to attend an open house and got to see inside one of these grand mansions! A great, relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

A nice neighborhood to walk around and explore. It's very green and you don't feel part of a town. Nice Victorian houses to photograph then find one of the local taverns.

Made a detour on our road trip purely to visit cave hill cemetery where Muhammad Ali is buried , quite moving. Also went in to the city centre to the Muhammad Ali centre. Very interesting facts about Ali . And the center is very well laid out , put aside a few hours to go on each floor and read... More

Several blocks of great buildings and homes. Every doorway in porch is beautiful and you need to look at. Very historical and captures Old Louisville in a classy way. Visited in Spring and everything was in bloom. A great break from the bustling busy Louisville streets
