The real Baptism Site

For those of Christian backgrounds is a must-be visit, to see the real Baptism site (not the purely commercial shopping-centre like installation at the Israeli side).

I am by no means a Christian but as a Muslim .. we do believe in Jesus ofcourse and he plays a big part in our faith. The place is spiritually amazing spot to be in. If you are into religion and history it's an important site you must see

There are a few baptismal sites on both sides of the river Jordan. Quasl-al-Yahud on the Israeli side claims to be the actual site where Jesus was baptized. Then you have also Yardenit somewhat commercialized but created as a safe alternative to the original sites in the times of turmoils - and also interesting. Jordainian place is less popular. The... Having a significant meaning to my Christian faith, the Baptism Site is something not to be taken lightly. Walking around this noteworthy and expansive district would shed light on how Jordan River divides two different territories, the baptismal pool, the pilgrims dipping in the water, the new Orthodox Church dedicated to St.John the Baptist, and the mosaic and marble tile... It was such a surreal experience visiting the location. It might not look like the most beautiful thing you've ever seen but it's the experience and the history is what counts which made the trip worth the while. Plus it's only a 10 minute drive from the Dead sea so make sure you go take a dip there and then... More

Whether you are a believer or not, the history and significance of the events that took place here are made reality here. Elijah, John the Baptist, Lot and his family and Jesus himself are only some of the people who walked around in this place. The scene itself was just what I needed to make much of what I read... This attraction was included in our Jordan pass. So we drove to the place and found that the place is near the border and the area is high security. They only let tourists in before 5:00 pm and we were lucky to to be let in. They asked us to park our car in the parking and we were just... More
