To tell you the truth, I had passed this house a couple times before going in because it just did not look like a lot of people were visiting the house. The house didn't open on time the first few days that I showed up. Honestly, I wasn't sure if it opened at all. When young lady finally showed up... More

While this museum shares a very ugly part of the history of the United States, it is something we all need to see and experience. Housed in the home of an abolitionist, this museum tells the story of brave freedom seekers and the abolitionists who were willing to help them make their way to Canada. Enthusiastic guide with knowledge. Our guides seemed to be the person who organized many of the exhibits.

An important part of American history that is often overlooked. The tour guides Nona and Crystal Marshall were outstanding and offered the group a wealth of information in an entertaining way that showed both their knowledge and their passion.

We did this as part of the Rankin House tours. I very much enjoyed it although I'm not so sure that most of the students enjoyed it. However that could be because it was such a long day and they had been on and off the bus so many times. I still got quite a bit out of it.
