This rest stop was once a classic manor. It has the typical items for a rest stop from bathroom and food vending and maps and tourist information. What is unique about Whitehaven is you can tour the house as well. Also on the second floor there are furniture and items that belonged to vice-president Alben Barkley who was from Paducah.

We stopped by the welcome center to tour the building during the scheduled touring hours, but there were no tours available. The two people working in the house were seated behind a desk and simply said tours were not happening today...very disappointed.

Whitehaven is a great way to show visitors to the Western Kentucky area the hospitality and beauty of Kentucky! The restrooms are clean, the visitors area is inviting and the house itself is beautiful! If you are traveling through Paducah, KY, make it a point to stop there and enjoy a little Kentucky hospitality!

Most beautiful welcome center in the USA, my opinion. Before it became a Welcome Center, it broke my heart to see this beautiful home decaying. Christmas decorations are spectacular.

This is a quaint stop that has everything that the visitor needs. The folks that staff the center are very helpful and gracious. It was nice to chat with them. look over the materials they provided and feel the hospitality!

Open 24 hours every day. I stopped at night and the bathroom was clean. A little ways off the highway but good signage to get you on and off the highway to the rest stop.

We always make this our rest stop going and coming and it has always been clean and the staff helpful. Good place to pick up maps and information on attractions, not to mention see the inside of a beautiful old mansion.

It is hard to believe that this is a welcome center. It is a historic mansion. The staff are all outstanding and very helpful. Last night Santa made an appearance and for two solid hours the children and families roamed the house and appreciated the history. Yes, there are rest rooms, maps, brochures and all of the usual things but... More

Shortly after moving to Paducah, my wife and I decided to check this place out as we'd heard it had some interesting history. We received a short tour from one of the employees who was very knowledgable and friendly. It is an amazing structure with lots of neat artifacts inside. Definitely worth your time.
