The Cumberland Inn Museum hosts a variety of attractive displays. Among them you will find the University of the Cumberlands archives, several stamp, coin, and arrowhead collections, along with other interesting collections. However, when you visit you must not fail to see...

This magnificent display contains hundreds of specimens ranging from the petite short-tailed Shrew to the gigantic Polar Bear, procured by Henry and Mary Henkelmann on expeditions from Africa to the Artic. The animals are displayed in surroundings created to match their natural habitats. A visit to this great exhibit fosters an appreciation of the beauty of life.

The Carl Williams Cross collection is one of the world's largest, consisting of over 7,000 pieces collected over a 30 year period, and represents the love and dedication of the late Rev. Robert Williams of Louisville, Kentucky. Rev. Williams focused his ministry on informing people about the origins of the cross and its significance to Christianity. The collection is dedicated to the memory of Rev. Williams' son, Rev. Carl Williams, a Cumberland College graduate.

Wildlife Museum/Largest collection of crosses

Very impressive private collection of North American wildlife., Including Buffalo. I did not realize how large these animals are. Upstairs is huge collection of crosses.

My wife and I were in Williamsburg for a Jeep Jamboree event. While waiting for the event to start, we took a tour of the museum. It has a good assortment of animals in a very small location - in a lay-out that was well done. Takes about 30- 40 minutes to view everything.

I didn't realize that this was strictly a museum of taxidermy. Not my normal thing but I can admire the skill it took to create. The sheer size of some of the animals was amazing.

The Musuem is inside the Cumberland Inn and Museum. We spent a lot of time wandering the exhibits and were amazed at the collection of animals on display. Highly recommend it.

This free museum open 8-8 is well worth a stop or if you choose to stay at the Cumberland Inn a walk across the parking lot. Or you might make time before or after an event at the University.

Stopped in here while passing thru with family. I didn't expect much, but we enjoyed walking thru the animal exhibit. The number and variety of taxidermied animals was impressive. Lots to look at and kids enjoyed it too. If you're passing thru and have about 45 or so minutes it's worth stopping in.

I ❤️ Trip Advisor. I listen when something is rated #1 or #2. We have found some hidden gems this way. That is how we found the Cumberland Museum. Would I travel from Indianapolis for this museum? Well, I guess we did. 😆 We had some good laughs and enjoyed the amazing animals. Have no idea how you stuff a... More

Would you believe a museum with so many forms of taxidermy on display. It felt life-like to be standing there admiring these animals. No other place like it I've ever seen. This is a must if you are passing by.

Very diverse, all natural. A beautiful way to see animals and life in other parts of the world. Liked especially that the animals were not killed just for the fun of it or to be stuffed, but were often found dead from car accidents, etc. Lovely pictures, artifacts, and articles about travels in remote areas of the world.
