Camping

I've been here a few times and it was a good place to camp. I get nostalgic because it'd been awhile since I was there. It's great to camp at; even for a night or two.

Had a wonderful time at the Holly Bay Marina campground with friends. We got a double site and a single site and had plenty of room for all of us. We rented a boat from The Grove Marina and they were all very nice and easy to deal with. The lake is not as large as Cumberland but it is... More

Stayed at Holly Bay Camp Grounds in Daniel Boone National Forest on the F loop site 10 - lovely setting peaceful, quiet, clean, gracious host, Wally and Judy. I'm not really a outdoor type - but my daughter really enjoys camping- so to celebrate her passing her NCLEX I offered to go camping w/ her and one of her college... More

A group of friends camped at Holly Bay campground at the lake. One of our sites was on the lake so we rented a boat and could tie up right at the campground, which is beautiful. We spent the morning on the lake, came back to campsites during afternoon heat and then headed back later in the day. Lake is... More

Just a really great spot, I would trade my condo in St. Petersburg, for a comparable value on the lake. The lake is amid the pristine beauty of Daniel Boone National Forest. The lake has a great marina, fishing, campgrounds, lodging. Its good for bird watching, wildlife and scenery.

I spent a week at Laurel Lake at the end of July, camping kayaking and fishing. If you are looking for a good lake to do some kayaking this is not it. I have kayaked on big lakes around Ohio but the boat traffic on this lake was brutal. Unfortunately, most of the coves are covered with tree stumps, above... More

We joined family that moors a Houseboat on Laurel Lake. The lake is in the Daniel Boone National forest. What a beautiful venue. A lake without any homes and a few spots for rustic camping. There is only forest and rock formations as far as the eye can see! We moored in our own private cove for a few nights... More

We rented a pontoon boat and took out on Laurel Lake for the day. It was a great boat with lots of space. The water in the lake was beautiful will do it again.

Sad to say when we asked the staff about the fishing after we rented a pontoon boat and was getting ready to launch "how's the fishing?" We were told it is a hard lake to fish. We had fun anyways, but was hoping for encouraging words. The water was like bath water temperature though.
