We visited the Forest and surrounding area. We also stayed in the Hemlock Lodge in the park. We took the Skylift up to the Natural Bridge. The ride up was relaxing, peaceful and beautiful. It was a very warm day and the bugs were particularly...More

Our family visited the Red River Gorge area of the Daniel Boone National Forest. We spent 3 days hiking and exploring caves, arches and waterfalls. There was still a lot we did not see. Some hikes are quite strenuous so make sure to always carry...More

It was worth the time just to relax and get away from all of the electronic devises we seem to be attached to. It reminded me of just how beautiful Kentucky is.

Its beautiful country. Plenty of places for picneks. A bunch of different places to fish. Some nice atv and horse trails. The lake is nice for boating. Has a sand beach for swimming.

Live Daniel Boone National Forest because I love the outdoors, hiking the trails yet many nice places (cabins) to stay if your not a camper. The Natural Bridge State Lodge has great food.

The nature of Daniel Boone Forest is out of this world. I visited two parks within the forest, Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park. This area is beautiful with diversity in wildlife, and trees.

I visited in the winter. I would love to return in the other seasons and experience all this National Forest has to offer. Lots of things to do and see. Could use a few more trail markers.

I love the Daniel Boone Forest and spend many hours here. The forest in huge and takes up most of Kentucky. There are different parts in other counties. I would recommend calling the forest service and getting maps.

The forest covers a lot of land in south central Kentucky to the Tennessee border. There are several scenic driving tours and the famous Cumberland Falls State Park. We drove to the forest the last week in October to hopefully view some great fall colors...More

If you have only 1 hour, I'm not sure if you can really do much of anything as far as hiking goes. Perhaps you can drive over to Natural Bridge State Park and hike one of the shorter trails. Like straight up to the Bridge... More
