Such a calm place. I go there to meditate and just be in the moment. Love giraffes:)) It is not a big zoo but so cozy, and not crowded, at least when we were there :))

The animals were incredibly sad. The cages were not nearly large enough for them. Most of the animals were alone and so sad. These animals need to be treated so much better. Ugh I can't express my anger on how horrible this was.

The visit was ok for the price. It is not an expensive entrance fee, and I wouldn't pay more than I did for the experience I had. It is a lovely walk through wooded areas in the back, but the front exhibits are quite small and unimaginative. I went later in the day, so it was cool and more animals... More

The zoo in Lafayette is a very typical small-town zoo. You might think it would be too hot for most of the summer when the kids are out of school to roam around the zoo, but think again. It really is not bad. They have done a fantastic job of using native flora to keep the area as shady as... More

We go to zoos all over the US. This zoo is in our home town. It is tiny (compared to the National Zoo or San Diego) and you get much closer to the animals. You can get to know the workers who love their animals and the Animals like Josie the new baby giraffe.

The Zoo of Acadiana is a nice smaller zoo. It has a wide variety of animals. Great for children of all ages and the young at heart. This zoo has plenty of activities that provide an interactive experience. There is a small train ride for children and a safari style tram for the whole family. There is a nice sized... More

WE LOVED THIS ZOO! Our visit to Louisiana would have been incomplete if We had not busted this ZOO. We live in Washington state and both my husband and I have traveled a lot in this country and abroad. We ( including our family) felt this ZOO was by far the most incredible experience. When we arrived their we walked... More

The animals did not look like they were cared for properly and the train did not stop at the station because the brakes failed.

It's a small, family friendly zoo. It's a little pricey for admission ($11) so if you plan to go at least a few times during the year, it's best to get a season pass ($30)... Its paid for itself by the third visit. It's smaller than the zoo of Baton Rouge and nothing compared to New Orleans but for a... More

This is a great stop with children. My boys love it. Most of the zoo is in the shade which is great for summer days. Save your money and don't spend it on the train. Not worth the money and its only a few minutes long with not much to see,
