Front street and the surrounding area are a great way to spend part of your day. Even if you got into every store this will not take you the entire day. There is a variety of shops to check out. While living in Natchitoches I...More

There was a good selection of bars, restaurants and gift shops. It is well worth a visit for the fudge shop alone!

Downtown is a little bit underwhelming. We expected a wider variety of shops and restaurants but found a rather limited selection.

The historic shopping district has everything from a homemade soap shop, antiques, specialty gifts, women's wear, old timey hardware store, and kayak rentals

Much work has been done to showcase this area. The shops feature the usual tourist kind of stores. The restaurants are good and fairly original. But the rest is fair from original. Other than the brick street, this area has lost historic feel.

This is a cute area to shop in especially if you are just window shopping. Things are really marked up. It was right before Mardis Gras so all the stores had their decoration in the window and had lots for sale.

Restaurants are open. Such as for brunch. I recommend Mama's. Some of the shops open after lunch time.

We stayed at a B&B that was within walking distance of the shops. The sweet Cane Inn is the one we chose and although the room was smaller than we thought it was clean and the Innkeeper was really helpful. Parking leaves a... More
