Fantastic historic area, it's definitely worth the stop and take the time to wander the streets, old buildings and meet the locals.

While driving home to Alabama from New Mexico, we visited Nachitoches for side trip. Driving along Front Street was neat. Our canine companion enjoyed exploring along the waterfront park (they had shot fireworks the night before). All in all-> Natchitoches is a nice day trip...More

We strolled down the street around 6 or so and most of the shops were already closed. This was despite the fact that they had a good band playing and a fair crowd. Go early if you want to check out all the stores.

Great place to have a walk and check out the shops. Was pretty hot so went into alot of the shops. People were very nice at each location we visited

Simply said....there was nothing I could not have found shopping at home. Shops were average at best with standard items.

Restaurants are open. Such as for brunch. I recommend Mama's. Some of the shops open after lunch time.
