It's a self guided tour with a booklet they give you. The price is really affordable, especially since I was doing a Stay-cation. the Lady at the front Desk was very friendly and pleasant. It's not a far walk to the Fort. There are small area's on the way that were for show. maybe during the year they have a... More

Following the old El Camino Real NHT, we stopped there expecting just a small museum and were VERY impressed. The reconstruction of the original site and the costumed period guides make for a truly interested experience.... we learned so much! Wonderful day out for the entire family.

The Fort is near historic downtown and an nice way to spend the afternoon. We paid $4 each for 2 adult tickets. The entrance building has many exhibits and the staff was very helpful - along with clean restrooms, always a plus! The grounds is well-maintained and outside the summer months, it was an enjoyable walk. The Fort reconstruction was... More

Gates were closed on a Tuesday afternoon around 1:30 pm; not very inviting. We had been hoping to finally see the fort, but not this time.

The fort is a very good place to learn history of the town and Louisiana !! They have a video that you watch that tells you about every thing and then there is the fort!! The way they have brought the fort back to life is awesome!! You really feel as if you are walking back in time when you... More

Walked here from our B & B through the old cemetery. The fee is very nominal and the lady there was very informative. You see the exhibits ans a film first and then walk to the fort via the woods. We met another staff member dressed in costume who was chopping wood and he was a fountain of all knowledge... More

Our visiting guest had a 6 year old daughter. I was hoping she wouldn't find the excursion boring. She didn't! We had a wonderful time, and the staff is wonderful. They answer questions and explain things so interestingly. I'm going to take all my guest there from now on! A must see, even for those that aren't interested in history!
