We went to view the Shadows during the Christmas craft show. Beautiful setting and fun to get the history behind the home, and local area. Only complaint was that it seemed rushed, but it was a busy day for them.

The Shadows on the Teche is a must see for anyone coming to New Iberia, La. So much history to be shared in this area, dating back to the Civil War.

In a world where more and more plantation homes are turning into event rentals and gimmicks this small site is one of the last places still committed to actual history. No jokes, no frillies, no cheeky catchphrases just knowledgeable guides telling the in-depth story of...More

Interesting history of a bygone house that is well maintained and so interesting. Guide was professional and anyone finding fault with this property, must understand that history is to be appreciated, never confirmed.

The first tour starts around 9 or 9:30 am and the last tour starts about 4:15. However you would want to go early enough to have plenty of time to look around the ground on your own.
