When touring St. Francisville you must stop in and take a tour of the Oakley Plantation. It is not too far from downtown St. Francisville and well worth your time. You can learn a little about Audubon's time in St. Francisville.

Audubon painted many of his birds while here. The visitor's center has a collection of many that he did while a tutor at the plantation.

We have been here so many times and we always enjoy it. Love the history and that John James Audubon once lived here. A must see if you are in the area.

This historic site is focused on the time Audubon stayed at the plantation. It is very informative with a different focus than most plantation tours. Has many nice Audubon prints on display

This was an interesting historical location with some stories pertaining to Audubon, the artist. The location has been kept, as much as possible, as it would have been when he was there for 3 months. It is an educational place to visit.

The museum and plantation tour has alot to offer. There are reenactment events throughout the year, and on occasion children can participate in weaving and taste testing from the kitchen. The story of the home is well communicated and the artifacts are well preserved. Peaceful...More
