We saw a little of the gallery and it appeared to have pretty interesting art. We mainly went for the gardens but I think it was too late in the year for a lot of the blooms. There are 40 acres of landscaped areas with...More

This museum contains an eclectic show of art and the grounds are a work of art as well. If you are planning a trip to Shreveport, don't miss this gem nestled in a beautiful older neighborhood. Actually, you could plan a trip there just to...More

This free museum on attractive grounds has a lot to enjoy--choice paintings and treasured artifacts, special exhibits beautifully displayed, and a collection of large, costumed dolls, among other things. The printed explanations posted with the items would be an education in themselves. We were so...More

I had just gotten back from Europe when my husband brought me here. With offerings ranging from Lutrec linographs to Native American art, to a celebration of Alice in Wonderland, Shreveport's very own Norton Museum is a beautiful local treasure.

Amazing collection, some local art some more well-renowned. Wide range of styles/types of paintings, some small sculptures. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this large gallery.

Spent the afternoon with some coworkers walking through the gallery. It was better than I expected - wide variety of art. Be patient, relax and learn.

The inside of the museum is very nice and has some impressive works of art, but it isn't child friendly - although they do hold mommy and me yoga some mornings and other child friendly events through the year. The best part in my opinion...More

Our recent visit to the Norton was most satisfying as we viewed the many paintings and statuary of the early West. The many Remington bronzes were fascinating and displayed Cowboys, Indians, Buffalo and Cattle in action. The paintings of life on the prairies were stunning...More

You may want to check out their Facebook site for current displays. Also, the neighborhood has been commenting on the chickens seen over there lately. RW Norton Gallery on Facebook

No photography is allowed inside or on the grounds. In years past, photographers used the beautiful grounds for backgrounds for pictures. But, some got a bit unruly, even brought a horse and buggy onto the lawn and ruined... More
