Grew up there. The park is very clean nd peaceful. Lake is pretty. Fishing is fair and campsites are good but some hilly. Cabins over the lake are awesome with a fireplace & dock

Some would expect raccoons but the traffic was unbearable after dark. Vehicles going the wrong way on one ways ignoring posted speed limits

This park was very poorly maintained. There was trash strewn all around my campsite and no trash receptacles in the area. Finally found a single dumpster. The comfort station was roped off with debris all around the side. Unimproved campsites with rundown tables and grills....More

The gates close at 10 pm, I doubt there will be anybody in charge to open them for you.

We live close to New Orleans and it took us at least 3 hours, but it was easy driving. One thing to remember is that there isn't much around the park so if you aren't bringing a picnic make sure to plan your meals... More
