I have done the Inchcolm Island trip three times now, in spring, summer and autumn. We brought family and friends and everybody loved it. The trip and the visit of the island are both great. The Maid of the Forth crew is alway very friendly and helpful, and I would not go with any of the others companies. The captain... More

Great little trip over to the island. Very atmospheric with cold blustery wind one minute and lovely sunny walks on the beach the next. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Would highly recommend this company if you want to visit. My 5 year old son loved climbing round the Abbey and the walks on the island as did... More

Having lived in fife for many years, we had a friend visiting and wanted to go a tourist thing. Decided to do the boat trip and stay on inchcolm island for a while. Whilst we are not historical people we thought it was great to explore and spend a nice October afternoon outside. Boat was very clean, with little bar,... More

We chose this ferry instead of the others offered mainly for the easy and intuitive web page they have, and now we know there are many other reasons to choose them. The staff of the maid of the forth is very helpful and friendly, all of them, but specially the captain that was so kind as to slow down the... More

Really enjoyable trip. Loads to see from the boat and on the island. Just the right amount of time to explore to see the Abbey and the WW1&2 structures that remain. We went on a cool calm overcast day with two teenagers. Take food.... I would definitely recommend

A great trip, with pretecorded commentary supplemented by some live updates. Good variety covering history, architecture and the natural world. Everything was brought up to date with the builds of the new road bridge and the two new aircraft carriers, seen from the distance.

The crew were very pleasant and helpful. The information given was accurate, descriptive and well delivered. The afternoon journey was just a sail to Inchcombe and back but the earlier one allowed people to disembark and look round the island. If the weather had been better we would have been able to stay on deck and see more but it... More

We were a party of 6 with ages ranging from 69 to 3 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day out. The boat trip was really informative and they took the time to slow down to point out wildlife on route. We had 90 minutes on the island of Inchcolm, which was time enough to see the old monastery and... More

The excusion (which I understand is a family business) is streets ahead of a trip we did on Loch Lomond last year. The crew are customer focussed, the commentry is detailed and and informative and waterballon fight at the Inchcolm Landing added a touch of humour. The time allowed for the Inchcolm landing was just right. A definite must do... More
