Easy but interesting walk

Great place to hike around a bay and a rocky headland on the ocean. Crashing waves, rocky cliffs, tidal pools, boardwalks and rocky trails

This is a nice easy hike that is very family friendly. It was fun exploring the tide pools, so be sure and go at low tide. We even saw a couple of crabs. Parking is limited at the trail head, but you can park alongside the road or at least people were when we were there.

We did this trail after completing Wonderland Trail and this one was my favorite. Wonderland was a flat path that led to a nice rocky beach, good for climbing around the rocks. Ship Harbor trail provided a little terrain, great rocky spots to climb around and mudflats at low tide.

Acadia provides multiple opportunities for walking in different settings. The Ship Harbor Nature Trail on paper looks like a good one, but the reality is different. There seems to be some type of disease that has invaded most of the pines along the path. The number of downed trees is surprising, but more of concern are the bulges that are... More

Low season and on the "Quiet Side" of MDI, but still there were plenty of people and deck chairs too. Still, it was a nice gentle walk, taking in an inlet and the coast. Cannot go wrong on the path, very easy to follow.

Absolutely amazing!!! So worth the trip, we were advised by a ranger to come here as it is less crowded with beautiful shoreline & forest views. He was right, it was s very easy walk about 1.4 miles round trip but take extra time to enjoy the views & play on the shoreline.

Nice hike to the shore. I've seen it described as easy; I'd call it a little harder than that. It is pretty flat, and the beginning is just a nice path through the woods, but about half of it is climbing on rocks by the shore. Got to see some nice views and some shorebirds. Were hoping for some good... More

This is a great trail with beautiful views of water and nice walk through the woods. Combine this trail with a visit to Bass Harbor lighthouse and lunch at Thurston Lobster Pound.

We hiked this trail and liked that it is not as crowded as most trails. We even saw a rabbit hop across the trail! It's an easy hike, we saw several families with small children enjoying it.

I am surprised this walking trail is not overrun with tourists. It has well planned and the walk to the outer reaches is spectacular. The tide pools here are fantastic. Check Tide Tables first. The sheer beauty and serenity makes this a photographer's delight. A must visit! Great for families!
