Since you don't want windows! We were drawn to it by the interesting glass entrance above ground. A very impressive and interesting collection, especially if you consider that most (if not all) are donations by grateful alumni. Of note, a set of pictures by Japanese schoolchildren post WWII; some are actually really good. And some ancient Assyrian artifacts.

I go often and enjoy the rotation of exhibits - not a large museum so you can manage it in an hour or two depending on your interest.

Some interesting artwork; however, the day we were there, the Winslow Homer and Andrew Wyeth paintings were not available. We were a bit disappointed since we drove out of our way to see them. Will try again in the future when in the area.

We spent a rainy afternoon perusing the small but excellent collection. The Robert Frank exhibition was a delight.

Excellent rainy day activity. Beautiful building with small but well displayed selection of art. Had good temporary exhibition of Robert Frank photographs. Gift shop is great.

The exhibit that we saw was tilted "It's a Portrait if I say so". It was a collection of portraits, some abstract, that was interesting to see. They also have a lot of other art (some really nice paintings and sculptures) in their permanent collection.

This is great exhibit space--not too large, but well organized with a nice collection of antiquities well displayed as well as a good selection of classical art. There is also a space for rotating contemporary exhibits. Excellent exhibit of paintings by and sketches for the illustrations for her children's books.

Went to this museum as a fill in for the day. Wanted to kill some time while it warmed up for a beach walk. Spent most of the day wandering the modern art section and a very interesting photo display. Nice place, well lit well thought out. Very nice campus with several museums on it. Perry museum is a block... More

Although I have been here before and enjoyed Bowdoins Museum of Art the exhibit on display this time was uninteresting to me. It was titled " It's a portrait because I say it is"...I'm sure there were people who enjoyed it but both my husband and I didn't. We went upstairs where the exhibits were more interesting and learned some... More
