We parked and walked several miles to the top. I have to say even in August, we were comfortable, not too hot. We met nice people. It was beautiful, the grounds were well kept.

We drove to the summit and walked around...lovely views. Many hikers were there too. If we'd had more time we would have enjoyed hiking as well.

This park is a perfect day excursion. It offers breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding area, wonderful trails through the surrounding forests, and a knowledgeable staff of park rangers. Highly recommended!

My husband and I took a weekend getaway from our snowbound New Hampshire home to the slightly less snowy Maine coast. The shopping in the Camden/Rockport area was slim pickens (most shops seemed to be closed for the season or for "spring break"), but fortunately...More

State parks are often overlooked, and missing this one is a crime. Summit Mt Battie by car or foot and enjoy sweeping views of the bay and islands.

This is one of my favorite shoreline hikes, allowing you to walk the beautiful coastline under the cover of the forest. There are several steep access areas that put you on the water, allowing you to scramble across the rocks to the waters edge (my...More

We were in Maine at the height of fall color. We had been in Camden and decide to go to the park and the Mountain. The drive up was pretty but nothing compared to the view from the top, overlooking Camden and the bay. I...More

I have never been there in the winter, but I am sure they allow winter hiking or X Country skiing, except this winter they have 3 feet or more of snow... could make it difficult.

Hi is it possible, or common to be able to find an available site for a 14' trailer for a week in mid September? We'd love to visit CHSP this September. THANKS MUCH! Dennis Havlena northern Michigan. We're seniors so electricity'd help keep our bones warm:)

We do not camp so we didn't pay close attention to that information other than they do appear to allow campers and I think they had electricity. Your best bet would be to contact the State Park directly for that long of a... More

Should be no problem with highway and main road into campsite. Would suggest calling State Park just to be sure.
