Definitely worth the trip up. We went up for sunset-gorgeous. You can hike the trails or drive to the top. Views of Camden Harbor.

Riding to the top of Mount Battie, one does not have any idea of the spectacular views that await you. For a small fee you enter the park and climb the winding road either by car or you can choose to hike any number of...More

We walk up through the woods to Mount Battie, which took an hour and half, enjoyed the views and then decided to walk back down on the road to avoid the uneven terrain of the trail.

It is a four season mountain that waits patiently to amaze new visitors and charm returning friends. Paths to walk up from different directions heading all over the park and even into the next county. Short walks and not so short walks are delicious. Even...More

Hi David G, Thank you for offering your comments about Camden Hills State Park. This 6,200 acre park is partly in Knox County and also in Waldo County. Volunteers erect a large illuminated star on the Mt. Battie Tower that is lit from Thanksgiving until...More

Beautiful view of the Penobscot Bay. A little pricey for a car load if you are just going up to see the view.

It took us about an hour to hike up. With the fog, the rock scrambles were slippery but we took it easy. When we first reached the top, it was like we were at the end of the world and could see nothing. But just...More

The summit of this low mountain can be reached by hiking or by car. It offers stunning views of the bay and all its islands and the town and harbor of Camden, full of boats. Well worth the visit. Just 5 minutes outside of Camden.

Yes, fireworks can be viewed from the summit of Mt. Battie. It's a different perspective, looking down rather than up. The fireworks usually are shot from a barge in the harbor - about 1.5 miles from the summit. We used to... More
