I have only visited here in winter/spring. What a beautiful property. Walking a long the shore and woods was beautiful. I stop here every time I am in the area.

Most visitors will come here to see the lighthouse, which is a good reason to come by the way, but the park that is built around the old fort is worth the visit too. If your interested in history this is a must see location. There are information boards at key locations to give you details on the structure. I've... More

And lots of history to be seen here. A shout out to Cape Elizabeth for not turning this expanse into an exclusive condo palace. Ball fields, dog walks and seaside trails combine to make this a 'must visit' on your stop in Portland. Then, of course, Portland Head light is here.

We were there in early Jan.and the roads were well maintained, sidewalks plowed and getting around was easy. Kids were sledding along the hill and the view of the light house was fantast.

There is some historical significance at Fort Williams Park, in terms of our early homeland and coastal defense. The overall grounds, however, make Fort Williams Park one of the most visited sites in Maine. Obviously, the big draw is the lighthouse (don't miss it). There is a natural arboretum and a future children's garden, both ongoing projects. There are a... More
