Goat Island Light House

Had a great view of this from Cape Porpoise . I have a good zoom on my camera so was able to get a good shot of it. From the Pier.

The really great shots of the lighthouse were taken at sunset with waves crashing in the scene. (I bought the post card) One of the few remaining historical lighthouses before electronics took over the job.

We rented kayaks and paddled out to the island. The lighthouse keepers were great hosts and let us tour the island the lighthouse.

Stopped for a couple photos after drinks at the Ramp bar and grill. Beautiful location with a couple nice restaurants nearby. Decent parking, not great.

You can see the Lighthouse from in front of the Pier 77 Restaurant. What a beautiful view especially when the sun is setting. It is a not to miss site. Just beautiful!

Rent a kayak and head out! This lighthouse and its keeper are a delight. The harbor is beautiful - you do have to provide your own transportation out to the island.

A classic Maine light station just off of Cape Porpoise (you could walk to it at very low tide). It is maintained, I believe, by the Kennebunkport Conservancy. We had the privilege of touring the facility on a foggy August evening. If you ever get a chance to do so, just do it. A highlight of our summer in Maine.

We drove out boat up and walked around the grounds. The lighthouse keeper was very friendly and gave us recommendations of local fare. Great trip!
