Elmers was a very interesting place. The barn is filled from top to bottom with different types of items. You really have to be willing to scrounge and search through a lot of dirty, undesirable items to find the gems. I was able to come across some amazing medical textbooks from the 1800s. That alone was worth it for me.... More

If you like to prowl through what seems like acres of antiques, junk and curious finds, Elmer's is for you. One of my favorites whenever we are in the area.

Too much filth to sift through. Once you get past that- u get to the floor of overpriced dealers and cheap jewelry. Skip it.

I have been going to Elmer's for the indoor "flea market", collectables, tools, furniture, doors, and odd things for 20+ years. I love rooting around in this funky old barn! Bring a sense of adventure when you visit.

It is always a blast seeing Ivana, and finding some great deals! This is a perfect place to spend a day, because there's so much history to learn about and everyone is so friendly! Definitely worth a visit! v

Take your time in Elmer's Barn or you miss the point as well as some good deals. Places like this are disappearing fast from Maine, particularly in the MidCoast; savor them while you still can.

Glad they added some dealer with actual antiques and collectibles. I remember for years this was a place to go to just pick for "stuff" or stay in the car while the hubby looks like I used to. We heard it had changed over the years and had stopped by - definitely worth a stop. Prices weren't too bad but... More

Other reviewers are missing the point. Elmer's Barn is both a junk and antique/ vintage market. The second floor offers great prices from multiple dealers. My husband and I are planning a trip to Cooper's Mills to look for vintage hooks for a coat rack. The hour's drive is lovely on back roads. This is not a "tourist destination" but... More

I wasted 2 hours of my life searching for a fair deal at Elmer's Barn. Yes there are lots of rusty old tools (who knows if they work anymore) and the 2nd floor is full of overpriced 'antiques' (mostly junk). The entire place is a hazard for tripping over things. The prices are so high that they rarely move inventory,... More

Old tools and bits are what sets this big dusty place from the many other junk and stuff places here in Maine. I enjoyed myself and even found a couple of things. If you have a thing for old tools this might be the place to go.
