Did a 2 week workshop. Lovely setting. Great and friendly staff. Workshop a waste of time. Based on cost, lost time and no response to a lengthy letter explaining my disatisfaction, I would not go back.

Haystack is one of those places that makes you stop, slowing down to the swell of the sea, the smell of the trees and the song of the birds and gulls. It's an artist retreat that makes you make beautiful things. I loved it.

Don't miss the Wednesday open studio tours. 1:00 PM, $5 donation that goes towards their scholarships fund. Phenomenal artistry at work!

Just finished a two week workshop with Mark Hartung in mixed media. If you are a maker, you MUST go to Haystack. You have nothing to do except attend great workshops, lectures and slide presentations. The food supplied by the excellent kitchen will astound you.

An incredible center for art-making, even off-season filled with a feeling for the grandeur of nature and the place of people within it. A visit to Haystack must include a stop in Stonington, and if time allows, a trip to Isle Au Haut.
