One public boat access, 50 yards in from paved road, large islands in the middle, crystal clear water, trout fishing, hunting from boat, sightseeing, semi protected from the wind in spots. This is a large pond, canoe rentals from Northwoods in Greenville are on site for day use by anyone who stops in.

We spent an afternoon paddling around the 'pond' - it's actually pretty big- and loved it! It was a highlight of our trip. We rented a canoe from Northwoods outfitters in town for 30$ for entire day. They give you paddles, life jackets and a key to unlock canoe on site. We brought our lunch with us and a blanket,... More

Caught a bass a few times, explored some islands and did some fishing. Easily accessible from marked well. Don't fish from the boat launch very rocky.

Prong Pond is absolutely outstanding! We rented canoes from Northwoods Outfitters and when we arrived had the whole lake to ourselves. We spent two hours paddling all around the take circling the islands, and saw loons. It was really priceless.

Perfect Maine pond, full of fish and scenery guaranteed to lower your blood pressure! There are hundreds of area ponds to choose from, but prong has been a favorite since I was a kid...no surprise it had its own tripadvisor spot!

It was a nice pond, but we had a really hard time fishing from the side because it was really rocky. We also did not catch any fish.

Northwoods Outfitters, where we rented kayaks, mentioned this as a great place to kayak and fish, and they were right. Prong Pond is much quieter than Moosehead Lake, with no big boats or jet skis to disturb the tranquility. We spent four hours paddling around and fishing, catching some nice bass and some sunfish. Don't let the term "pond" confuse... More

Love to go kayaking and fishing here.....ask a local or use your Delorme to find this great spot. Even when I do not catch many fish, I love to come here to paddle around. It is an easy in/out for your kayak or boat and it is safe to leave your vehicle in the parking area.

We rented a canoe to go fishing on Prong pond while visiting Greenville. We had a blast!! We caught over 30 Brooke trout and really enjoyed ourselves. The water is pretty calm and there are very few people on the pond. It's a quiet area.
