Hopefully LA will expand on this beautiful natural resource. I think they should put something together on the canal. Similar to the canal in Providence R.I.

While serving jury duty I needed a place to go on a sunny lunch hour. Took a walk by the river. A beautiful day. A beautiful view. It is a nice leisurely walk and a good place to exercise or feed the birds nothing more

We parked down river, drove up, and launched for a few mile ride down. Hit small rapids, which was fun, and unexpected, but still had a blast. The many places to park along the path make it easy to find a trip for the length...More

It was summer and had been dry when we visited August 18th so water level was pretty low in the falls. It also rained all day, but it is still a very pretty riverwalk, done up nicely. Views from 6th floor corner suite in Hilton...More

Sometimes the water smells horrible but the walk around the falls and into lewiston is a great walk. If you walk under the bridge into lewiston you will find a small playground for kids.

When the rains are heavy, Great Falls is very Beautiful to watch. This picture shows how it looks then. When crossing from Lewiston to Auburn or vice versa on the bridge, it is so nice to look at the Falls.

Great paddle from Shelburn bridge to Bethel, River has nice current with lots of riffles. Very scenic, open views of surrounding mountains. A very relaxing trip. Saw Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Herons and Geese along with a variety of songbirds. It's a easy 4 1/2 to...More

First of all, the Androscoggin doesn't empty into Lake Umbagog, it's head waters start at the lake and the lake empties into the river. Second, I agree it's a beautiful place but there are now too many canoes and kayaks that get so close to...More
