This walk have is 4 miles of mild up's and downs. This was exactly what we were looking for. There were some interesting sights; a lake and a balancing rock, and lots of ferns on a nice, well-marked path.
What a wonderful preservation effort. This moderate 1to 1 1/2 hour hike thru pine forest, around ledges, boulders on well worn trails gives beautiful vistas of Lake Megunticook. The road to the parking area wends its way thru fields and back yards as well as...More
Hikes/walks are well laid out, well marked and offer stunning scenery in a wide variety of forest, meadow and lakeside settings. Nothing difficult here. CMLT, who manages this facility, always does an outstanding job at all their preserves.

Not clearly marked, no signs but worth the time to find it. A really nice hike through the beautiful woods and then around Megunticook Lake. We took the blue route and then picked up the orange route - maybe 4 miles. Start to the right...More
Fernald's Neck Preserve is not well known and that is what makes it wonderful. It is a quiet, peaceful, pretty place to visit without any crowds. There are clearly marked trails and the walking isn't too difficult. We walked the blue trail, were impressed by...More

This is not to be missed. Walk the Blue Loop and take in the views of Lake Megunticock. Detour to the Balance Rock and swim off the rock beach if you'd like. I will note that our Fitbit said the Loop and Rock detour took...More
If you are looking for a quiet walk through the woods along a lake the Fernald's Neck Preserve is a good choice. It's about five miles from downtown Camden. Bring a swimsuit the water is lovely. It can be a bit buggy in June.
