We went to check out this beach on our Maine trip because of Trip Advisor reviews. This was pretty amazing to see and we enjoyed walking the rocky beach. Our dog didn't like it so much so we didn't make him walk to far on it! Loved listening to the sounds the waves made on the rocks and checking out... More

This is an opportunity to see a geological formation which is said to occur in only one other place on earth in japan. The rocks which make up the beach are rhyolite and have been polished by the constant wave action over thousands of years. The sound of the waves washing up on the rocks is almost musical at times.... More

I don't know that I've been on a beach completely comprised of tumbled stones in the pea to egg size. Each rock is very smooth and vary in color and composition. The beach itself is very steep and very entertaining in that its just so different from your typical sand or Acadia Granite shorelines. Too bad that the residents can't... More

This little Interesting beach is full of rocks, no sand very close to highway 92 below Machias port off highway 1. No overnight camping and nice to experience the tides and listening to the rocks wash with the tide.

Jasper Beach is composed entirely of rocks. Even the dune is made of rock. The music the water makes over the rocks is enchanting and well worth a trip to this beach.

We stopped here to have a picnic lunch and geocache on our way to Lubec for a couple of days of hiking. This beach reminds me of a beach that I went to in England many years ago - there was no sand! The pebbled beach is interesting and fun to just walk along and see the different stones that... More

Stopped at this beach on the way to Lubec. Really different as the beach is composed of small rocks that have been smoothed over by the constant surf of the ocean. As one walks along the beach the rocks become pebbles getting smaller and smaller. Worth the stop!!

What a great beach. Completely different from anything I have seen before, which is always fun. Best part for me- standing in the water and feeling the rocks brush past your legs with each wave that crashes onto the shore (no it does not hurt).

This is not a beach you will likely walk barefoot on (unless you have tough feet), but it is really cool. The beach is covered in beautiful rocks, not much sand. I wish we had brought chairs with us because it was a very serene beach, I would have liked to sit there longer.
