If you're wandering around Ogunquit, this is definitely worth a quick look. It's an interesting old building, a charming little library, and they even still have card catalogs.

Stopped here to see the architectural aspects more than the library. Not disappointed by either but was surprised the quality of the actual offerings in the library were minimal for what appears to be an affluent village. Effort should be put forth in fundraising for such a gem.

An impressive historical site. A must see for library fans. Small and well ordered complete with a card catalog. Books on Ogunquit and it's history rest on a table for easy access without needing to search for the info.

This is not a county run library, but is privately owned and operated. We stop to see if the inside was as quaint as the outside, and found it to be. There is a Hugh fireplace in the inside, but we were told they aren't allowed to use it. Something to do with the fire code, which makes sense to... More

What a beautiful building with such a friendly, cozy feel. Dog friendly too. So wonderful that this former home was donated to this purpose.

We always visit the local library when traveling. The building is beautiful and quaint. The selection is somewhat limited but what can be expected for such a small library. The sights and smells brought back long ago memories of a weekly trip to the library as a small child. The card catalog is alive and well and living in Ogunquit.... More

Open 6 days a week during day except for the one hour it is closed for lunch, imagine that, a place that actually closes for lunch. Nice place to view some of history of Ogunquit and relax in one of the reading rooms.

This small space lets you step back in time. Stepping inside, you imagine what a gem this building has been to area vacationers and residents. It's a perfect place to read or find a book. There is also a great shaded sitting area outside with benches. If you like historic buildings and memorial libraries, don't miss this one.

If you are looking to get away from the crowds, find a quiet stone place to chill with a book, paper, journal or kindle, this is it. Check the hours as they are not bankers hours.
