We had not heard about Nancy before we visited Peak's Island. Our golf cart tour guide Kim suggested we check it out. What a nice surprise! Nancy takes about 10 minutes explaining her different categories of umbrella covers. She even showed us the sexy ones...More

What a blast this museum proved to be! Nancy's tour makes her one of the most charismatic docents I've ever known and her knowledge of umbrella covers may be seen as mundane, but it's to be celebrated. Stop in and sing with her - be...More

This is a one of a kind place. The owner is a hoot. Hopefully she will sing the song of her museum. What fun! Near everything.

A quirky spot to visit the owners enthusiasm makes the trip worthwhile. There is no fee but we made a contribution as it was worth the entertainment value

I had researched Peaks Island before we got there. I had to go here. It's a little hole in the wall but what a fun place. There were a couple of young girls as our guides. They were so thorough and even gave us quizzes...More

My wife loves umbrellas and was so happy to discover this tiny museum. She donated several from her collection & the owner/director was very appreciative. Quite the presentation. Peaks Island is a great destination...you can't miss this little shop when you visit

Umbrella covers. Why would these items - often discarded - be entertaining? Because of the stories of how they came to the museum, because of their former ownership, because the guide describes them in fanciful ways. Most recently I visited with college friends on their...More
