Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay, Maine. The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine!

We arrived in early September, called during the week and got on for the afternoon trip. I would suggest calling a few days ahead for weekend and busy seasons. The staff in the booth and boat were very friendly and experienced in lobstering. Open to...More

Had a blast. Took my 3 year old on the 1030 trip with around 14 other people, including my husband and I. We got lucky that she was the only child, as the other boat goers let her really get in the action. Super informative...More

This is so much more than just a lesson in lobster fishing. It is a scenic boat cruise, a nature tour and a history lesson all rolled into one trip. The crew was both informative and super fun. You're not crowded so you're free to...More

We lucked out with gorgeous weather and had the best time touring the harbor, seeing sights and learning all about lobsters. My kids loved getting into the orange gear of the lobster fisherman and had a blast helping fill bait and setting traps. Captain Tom...More

Our particular boat appeared to be lobster only but I know they had several boats. They are incredibly nice. I would call and inquire.

We were there in September so it was a bit cool, pants and sweatshirt. Summer months, shorts and t-shirt. They give you a lobster apron to wear so your clothes don't get wet.
