We walked the path to the lighthouse today, and it is just beautiful. We could see what is left of the old forts and oldest cemetery in the area. I am so jealous that people actually get to teach at the community college and look...More

We just happened to discover this light house on a day it was open to the public. What a thrill. Located in a great spot over looking Casco Bay the views were spectacular

Off the beaten path, nice walk out on the breakwater to the light house. East view of Portland Head Lighthouse, bring a telephoto lens. West view of Portland skyline.

You have to walk out the rock path which is challenging but the Lighthouse is kept up really well and the staff is very knowledgeable. Not the highest lighthouse but probably the most unique I've been in.
