The Spring Point Ledge Light is accessed through the Southern Maine Community College which is located on the old Fort Preble. We drove through the college campus to the shore. Parking was extremely limited and mostly by permit. It was a wet and wild day...More

It is very beautiful, specially if it is a beautiful day. It is easy to find, free and I would recommend to go on a sunny day. Ps: you have to walk on the rocks so make sure you have comfortable shoes.

I took my 6 month old daughter out to this in a carry sling. Some of the gaps are rather large but I'm tall and did it no issues. There are plenty of stones so even shorter people should cross ok. You can't go in...More

This is such a lovely sight. The water was an amazing color and broke wonderfully on the boulders on the beach.

We were able to view this lighthouse from a distance while doing a tour of Portland. Very pretty little lighthouse. Would love to go back and walk out to it.

I love the ocean ! The light house was very accessible. The weather was perfect and winds friendly. I can sit by the ocean for hours. What a campus for a community college!! They must have little to no anxiety or depression.

This place was recommended by a friend and since I enjoyed Rockland Breakwater I thought I would try this walk. Not as far of a walk but still worth it. Beautiful view at the end and I thoroughly enjoyed the little beach at the beginning...More

The walk out to the lighthouse is a little tricky. The area has interesting structures unfortunately no plaques describing their history.

Nice little Lighthouse with a Rocky Ledge not far from the City. A great place to relax with a great view of the harbor. Parking is a bit limited but worth a visit.

It was amazing to walk out along the man made rocks to actually touch the lighthouse. I don't recommend taking children or the elderly out. There are several places that have you have to kept small distances and the rocks are uneven.
