We visited Wilson Store with a small group of people recently. browsing the antiques and collectibles was fun, but I was impressed by the selection of cheeses, and local ham. Some cheddars from Wisconsin and some fairly local Amish cheese highlighted our food interest. Also, the 'penny' candy selection was great. My wife was especially attracted to the dark chocolate nonpareils. A couple of hours of wandering, tasting, and conversation with the owners completed a very nice visit. I've got to get back there for some more cheese and ham, too !!
The building was originally the town gathering place, containing the post office, hardware section, general store, etc. A large pot-bellied iron wood stove heats the main part of the store. Some of the browsing areas are upstairs or downstairs, so access for handicapped persons is limited. Located lust off of U. S. Route 40 (National Pike) on the west side of Clear Spring, MD.

The overall feeling you get, reminds you days gone by. An original structure dating back to the 1800's, offers sweets and treats by the piece or by the pounds. Local cheese and some meats on occasion. Decorated with original antiques
