I've lived in the area a long time but somehow missed this till now. We went for the Santa train and the kids loved it. They have a couple mile track that runs through the woods and you get to ride in various of their old trolleys. Inside they have a holiday train set up that the littles ones enjoyed.... More

We were looking for something to take our granddaughter to. She loves trains. This place was fantastic between the trolley rides in the different cars and the working model, she loved it.

The National Capital Trolley Museum was a wonderful place to visit especially for a day trip. I took my mom and we loved all the wall displays and also the trolley house as well. The people there were very helpful and were also very knowledgable about the history of the trolleys, The great part is parking was free and the... More

This is an excellent place to bring the kids on the weekends. The staff is very friendly and know all about the DC transient system. They have a variety of trolelys to ride and you can take as many rides as you like. We rode in an English boat shaped trolley and on a trolly that was used in Dc... More

We visit a lot of Trolley Museums throughout the country and for a day trip for us this is one of the better museums that we go to often. The ride is longer than several others even closer to us, the volunteers are usually friendlier and they have reacquired many very wonderful trolleys from the past and other countries since... More

I visited with my husband and was surprised at how much I enjoyed this small museum. We went on 3 rides on three different trolleys through the woods and back up to the station. You can go on as many trolley rides as you'd like. There were short silent films (funny), signs explaining trolley history, some interactive exhibits and a... More

The ride was the best part of the visit but was too short. Plus, they stopped in the middle of the ride and spent good half of the time checking tickets. Quite boring otherwise. To say that the staff is rude is a huge understatement. In short, if you want to have a good day, go elsewhere. Yelp reviews give... More

We've been about 4 times. We go for the Christmas Holiday-Holly Trolly ride with Santa. We've also gone for the Halloween ride. There isn't much to do but ride the trolley. Sometimes they take you into the room with the trolleys that are no longer in use. You can be in and out in 30 minutes.

Having just visited the College Park Aviation Museum, and been pleasantly surprised by the small, yet enjoyable museum - I was expecting something similar from the National Capital Trolley Museum. Such was not the case. As a child, I visited the Seashore Trolley Museum in Southern Maine. The STM outshines the NCTM - 5 to 1. Not even close. The... More

Because the museum depends on volunteers, it may be that our experience was better than others because our trolley driver was great. Clearly, he enjoyed what he was doing and though my husband and I at first weren't going to ride the trolley, we are so glad we did! We quickly realized that there is some skill involved in knowing... More
