We visited Smith Island (Ewell) on Saturday, left at 12:30 pm and returned at 4:00 pm. The boat ride was nice to and from, and the weather was great for a boat ride. I agree with other reviewers that the Captain, albeit nice, didn't go...More

Where do I start, difficult to find. Not much communication, if you go you'll have to ask questions. No greeting on the boat, not very friendly, no announcements until you are moving. Almost like they don't want you there.

Once beautiful island has become shabby. Lots of run down houses with overgrown yards. There is nothing really to see or do, except swat at the flies and mosquitoes. There is a very small museum which may or may not be open. Don't expect much...More

If you want to see what life was like way back when then you will enjoy a trip to Smith Island. Don't expect amusements and lots of excitement, just an unhurried approach to life with proud people who work very hard for what they have....More

The boat ride over was peaceful and enjoyable. We were able to see different types of birds and enjoy the breeze. Once we got to the island, we ate lunch. The food was only mediocre. Their "shrimp tenders" are just popcorn shrimp. We shared a...More

Clarification. I mistyped. What I suggested would get you from Point Look Out, not Reedville as last sentence indicates.
