This is a very cute and historic town. The best time to see it is during the week when it is not so busy. They have great shops where you can find Bargains....

We went there on Monday. Most of the shops were closed, they close Monday and Tuesday!! Very surprisly. Place is nice, but not during morning time. Good idea to visit after 4 pm, but again they close early around 6! I think old town Alexanderia is much better place.

A little bit of local history, a lot of old fashioned storytelling, and almost no scary, a ghost tour is a great excuse (if you need one) to walk slowly up and down the main street of Ellicott City, hand in hand with that special someone, on a summer evening. The ghost tours (there are several to chose from) take... More

This tour sounded fun and my partner and I were excited to go on it - we really wanted to like it. I hate to be critical, but the tour on Friday 12th July 2013 was terrible. The success of a ghost tour hinges on the guide's personality, wit, enthusiasm and verbal delivery, to generate a "haunted" atmosphere. I liked... More

I cant wait to return. This whole city amazed us...walking tours, railroad museum, and antique shops to die for! Be sure to drive around side streets if you are in auto after this tour and create your own tour.

We did this tour in late June, our guide for the evening was Paula and she was great! The guides dress in period clothing and carry a candle-lit lantern, which enhances the mood of the tour. We found Paula informative and engaging with her stories, many of personal experiences or those of close friends. Ellicott City is a beautiful and... More

This was our first ghost tour so we really didn’t know what to expect. We arrived to the town (which is totally charming and cute) around 8pm and parked right behind the visitors center. We bought the tickets and while we waited for the tour to start we learned about the history of the region by reading some display panels... More

The literary pub crawl is a close cousin to the haunted history tours of Ellicott City. Our hostess, dressed for the part, read passages from locals like Edgar Allan Poe, and H.L.Mencken as well as passers through like Daniel Boone. A great way to feel the heartbeat of the town while enjoying a drink at some of the local establishments... More
