Women were the main keepers of this lighthouse. During one emergency Fannie Mae Salter had to manually ring the bell every 15 seconds for an hour. You go girl! My taveling buddies and I hiked a very easy 1.9 mile hike on a chilly afternoon...More

Beautiful hike in fall to lighthouse. Great view of rivers from there. Often can see bald eagles soaring on the updrafts.

It's a nice walk regardless of the weather. the trail is great to walk you dog and it really is not much of a work out. If you can get one of the state park information tours, you'll learn a great deal about the flora.
