Spur of the moment trip for Labor Day Weekend to Carroll County. We really enjoyed the visit to the Union Mills Homestead. It holds a lot of history & is still a working mill. You can purchase the flours and cornmeal ground there in a mill from the 1700s (very reasonably priced). Beautiful historic home full of original furnishings. This... More

We visit Union Mills several times a year. Corn roasts to support Lions Club, Microbrew festivals, etc. However, this is a great place for a relaxing picnic with the family. There is a quaint little wedding/reception barn, tours of the mill, blacksmithing, gift shop, etc. Nice to visit on a nice day!

We just attended a wedding at Union Mills Homestead. The site is beautiful. We loved all of the extra added touches. The ceremony was held onsite the reception was in the barn. The decor was amazing. Every where you looked there was an extra fun personalized touch. The restrooms were perfect, but was a hike for some older folks. I... More

Besides a mill, it is a homestead and both the North and the South in close times during the war then inhabited this place as a campground before advancing up the road to Gettysburg

The tour guides at the house and Mill were all very knowledgeable. I never thought I would learn as much as I did. I will be coming back in the future.

Great location and beautiful weather. The festival has been here for many years and if the weather holds up, it's great, if not it can be a sloppy mess. The microbreweries have multiple flavor beers so it is a great place to try different beers in one setting. Nice venue.

Do you love history. This is a great place to learn how they used to make flour, all kinds. It is a mill. Visit with the staff who guide you through history, not just Carroll County history, BUT history of our Nation. The Union Mills Homestead was a cross roads of civil war history, where both Union Forces and Confederate... More

This was the location of a reception for a wedding held earlier in the afternoon. We arrived about 4pm on the 3rd Saturday in October. I can't know for sure, but this must have been the last day of the season that this venue can hold events. I say this because it was a cold day. We saw snow flurries... More

There are quite a few events held at the Homestead. The Corn Roast is early August and the Microbrew festival at the end of September are the largest. You can also rent it for weddings. The old mill is in great shape. The place is kept immaculate. Stop by and check it out or I will see at the beer... More
