Lots of scenic trails, but not great for exercise walking on a hot and humid day. Very little shade available. A real unspoiled oasis and I hope it always remains that. Ice cream stand that also sells cold drinks, located at a working farm with farm animals to see and enjoy. In the winter it is taken over by cross... More

To stretch the legs, the fur tree lined walking trails at Green Brook were perfect. Short and long trails are on offer in the beautiful woods that are on the farm. Recommend you try the ice cream from the shop.

We stopped here on the way home to CT from NH, hoping to find a playground for our son to do some running. There wasn't a playground we saw, but there was a large open field where he could stretch his legs as well as acres of hiking trails! We walked towards the ice cream shop and were pleasantly surprised... More

I live just down the road from Great Brook and walk in the park often. About 40 minutes from downtown Boston, it is truly an oasis from urban life. There are many trails through the woods and in meadows and an ice cream stand to reward you after your peaceful walk!

Great Brook is a lovely park of trails, a canoe launch, an active cranberry bog, and a dairy farm you can tour and then get ice cream and buy cranberries (in season). Catching a cranberry harvest is always special. If you keep an eye out you might see some wildlife including a beaver dam, or a Blanding's turtle. Carlisle is... More

This was our first time visiting Great Brook Farm State Park, and I cannot believe we have missed this place over the years, and it is only 30 minutes away from our home! We went in March, so it was not that busy, but it has a great trail system that is set up perfectly for walkers, joggers, etc. Many... More

After a long day at school, my good friend and I got into his car and went for a quick drive to Brooks. With a number of paths and beautiful scenery, it was a great place to just enjoy nature and the person who accompanied me. Brooks is definitely a recommend place during season just to relax and take a... More

I went to this State Park for the first time this past weekend. I went with my dog and we were just interested in a one to two hour hike. I happened to stumble upon the Park Ranger's office and the nice ranger gave me a map and also recommended a great route to follow. We did deviate a little... More

Went on a hike there this weekend with Outdoor RX, which is a part of the Appalachian Mountain Club. There was snow on the trail but everything was still very navigable with snow boots. There were some in our group with snow shoes too. We passed many people also out enjoying the sunshine this past weekend. It was nice that... More

So many choices for trails. Some hills, but mostly wide walkable trails. Some evidence of horses, but easy to avoid! Look up trail maps ahead of time to plot your route.
