This area is one of the best kept secrets in the Cape. It makes a wonderful half day trip in any season! Just follow the brown sign on the Rt 6 East to Fort Hill historic area. There are two parking areas, both are free but with limited spots. The first parking area on the left will lead you to... More

On a windy November day, we ventured out to walk the trail and see the seashore in the area. This is an easy walk that overlooks the marshes and seaside. Several folks ventured out on the day and we enjoyed the scenic beauty of the area.

I can honestly say that the view from Fort Hill is absolutely exquisite. The day that my husband and I visited was gorgeous to begin with. The sky was clear and sunny, and the air was crisp. I was totally unprepared for the beauty of the marsh; to see the sunlight glinting on the water took my breath away. I... More

The trails provide lovely views of the seashore. They probably also provide a very nice walk. I saw probably because it was unusually hot when we visited in mid-July. The heat made the biting flies more aggressive both in the open areas and in the woods. We did find a section of trail with a nice breeze that kept the... More

The more I explore Cape Cod, the more I am amazed a the number of hidden gems tucked just off Route 6, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of fried seafood and ice cream cone shops. The Fort Hill area is a great area to explore. The trails are easy to navigate (although one trail was partially... More

The wife and I need to walk off the awesome lunch we had. The walk around Fort Hill did the trick. Beautiful marshes and Capt Penniam house with the whale bone arches was a perfect way to round off the day. If you like hikes and a bit of history this is a nice place to be.

Drive by the historical Old Fort Hill House on your way to a gorgeous view overlooking the marshes, old coast guard house and coast guard beach. Breathtaking views of the ocean. Pack a lunch, park and enjoy. Some nice walking trails. sadly not dog friendly. But we all enjoy the view from the jeep:)

So much history here! Beautiful sight of ocean past marsh. Trails are easy to follow and are well marked. You'll never realize you're getting exercise because you'll be too preoccupied with nature!

I have been coming to the cape for over 20 years. I return to fort hill over and over again to hike the trails and enjoy the spectacular views of the marshes and I let. The trail in the woods is mostly easy boardwalk and great fun for children. It is shady on a hot day. The trail along the... More

Great scenic views, with lovely and easy trails. Beware, small parking lot. Big signs off Rte.6 so it's easy to find and get to. Plan at least an hour to enjoy this place and walk around and take in the history and natural beauty,

Thank Karen H
