Japanese garden

Almost everytime we drive over to Chappaquiddick, we stop at Mytoi and take a stroll through the garden. Spring and fall are special times to take in the garden's changing flora

These are pretty Japanese gardens that were restored after being destroyed by Hurricane Bob a number of years ago. Very nice to walk around and sit and enjoy.

Again very well hidden - take the 3 car ferry to Chappaquiddick and continue straight when the paved road makes a sharp right bend. Proceed straight down Dike Rd. Enjoy yourself!

A nice sunset stroll through the Mytoi garden. Closed for the day so no one around except for us. Just beautiful plantings and a relaxing atmosphere. Impressive with the drought we have right now.

We saw the gardens but also took a jeep tour of the preservation area of secluded beaches, marshes and the lighthouse that we climbed. Our tour guide was a very smart Middlebury student and she gave excellent information on the history of the island and the organization that protects this land, the bird life, the indigenous plants, and the changing... What a wonderful surprise this area was. A 3 acre garden in the Japanese style donated in the 1950's by one of the Islands early benefactors and meticulously maintained today by the island conservancy. A peaceful wonderful experience not to be missed!

If the upscale hustle of Edgartown starts getting on your nerves, this is the perfect antidote. Very we'll kept by volunteers. Look for the HUGR snapping turtles!

Rhododendrons were just barely past peak, so this was a beautiful walk in early June. Several places to sit and contemplate the beautiful grounds.

Having lost count on the visits here, I will never tire of spending time here. This visit was at the apex of a late spring: Rhoddies, azaleas, peonies, berries and fern, bursting with color. Walkways and waterways gracefully winding throughout the peaceful property, inviting guest to linger and drink in the beauty. We are so grateful for this gift and... More

This is a must-see on Chappaquiddick. Many thanks to the Edgartown North Water Street Art Gallery owner for telling us about this place.
