This beach was stunning! Only stopped off for a short time as part of a private tour but would loved to have stayed the full day! Very clean, white sand, blue waters! What more do you need! :)

Beautiful beach, soft soft sand! Not swamped with people. Down right gorgeous! First visit to Martha's Vineyard, never visited east coast beaches, as it compares to West coast beaches, just as nice.

I think the waves are bigger and the water is a touch warmer than other beaches. Most people let the air out of their tires and drive out onto this beach with 4wd vehicles. Like a big tailgate party at the beach!

Sand, no stones, good water. Toilets. Close to the bus stop. I would like if there would be food/water counter, though.

South Beach is gorgeous. You definitely need to be careful with the surf. Some days are more wild than others. But it's always fun, always beautiful.

Although this is a beautiful beach, the waves tend to be high and an under current can be sometimes strong. I don't go often because of this reason and it makes me nervous to have my teen anger in the water although he is a...More

South beach is a great spot to relax and enjoy the vineyard's great beaches. While the water is a bit rougher than some of the other beaches on the island, the sand is smooth and it is very easy to park. It is our favorite...More

Really enjoyed our time at South Beach. Warmer water, wonderful sea grass and dunes, long, wide beach, lots of folks, but not over-crowded. Great parking. I see a lot of people mentioned the waves and surfing, but that really wasn't our experience. The waves were...More
