The outside is beautiful- so much detail and artistry. I only wish someone would have been around so we could have seen the inside. Outside of services, it seems the church is locked, except for some afternoons in the summer. Hopefully I will make it back someday when it is open. It is still worth visiting the exterior

I really like classic European church architecture. And, I especially like the Gargoyles typically found on European churches. A beautiful European Cathedral is located in the center of Fairhaven. The Cathedral was a gift to the people of Fairhaven by Henry Huttleston Rogers. Rogers, a Standard Oil magnate, grew up in Fairhaven and was the town benefactor. The outside of... More

Henry Huttleston Rogers, a native of Fairhaven, who left and made his fortune in Standard Oil, never forgot the town of his birth, and had this magnificent church built at the turn of the 20th century to honor his mother. With artisans from Italy helping to build this "cathedral" that dominates the center of historic Fairhaven, it is easy to... More

Another of Fairhaven's architectural masterpieces, this Unitarian church looks more like a gothic cathedral. The stained glass, wood carving, and stonework are all magnificent.

This beautiful church, built by Fairhaven's benefactor, Henry Huttleston Rogers, is a gem of architecture. Gorgeous wood carvings, magnificent stained glass and unique features which spared no expense can be viewed during the summer months and special occasions when tours are provided on Tuesdays and Thursday's from 2. -4. The historic building is maintained by a dedicated congregation of Unitarian... More

This Gothic structure stands as a sentinel to the divine in the center of Fairhaven. Its ivy-covered exterior with a huge gate doorway that leads into the sanctuary or out into a beautiful garden in the back. The building exudes a cathedral ambiance until you get inside where you find the simple lines of New England Puritanism blended with Unitarianism... More

The church looks like it was dropped out of Europe, great architecture. The ideal place to plan a wedding or wedding pictures.

During the summer months, you can tour this building on Tuesday and Thursdays. Even you aren't lucky enough to get inside, take a walk all around the exterior and discover the intricate stone carving and metal work of this magnificent structure. If you are around on Sunday morning, treat yourself to the laid-back Unitarian Universalist style of services.

Along with other beautiful historic stone buildings in Fairhaven, the Unitarian Memorial Church leaves one in awe. Buildings of this kind are unaffordable to build today. Frequently members are around and so very pleased and proud to show you around. Don't miss this.

This beautiful church looks like it was transplanted from England, both inside and and out. The tours are a delight with explanations of the details of the design and the construction. A must see in Fairhaven.
