One point to mention. There is seating above deck and at deck level. If you choose not to be above deck (open air), try to be first to board to assure seating- other wise you'll have to stand.

I was able to walk from my resort to the ferry. I didn't arrive early either time and was able to board. The wait area is small and hot in the summer - so take water if you plan to wait.

We were able to purchase ferry tickets at our motel (mariner motel), which saved us from standing in ticket line. However, ticket lines did not look very long. Our 1/2 hr ride to Martha's vineyard was fun and relaxing. Cannot wait for another visit.

Lovely small ferry from Falmouth to Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard. No Cars, just walk on or take your bike. Good chowder, snacks, drinks. Much calmer than the Steamship.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. I like that you're able to park near the ferry and many different departures.
