This is a well maintained converted rail trail which is actually two different walk/bike trails. One from Shore Street beach that goes along south side of Falmouth with view of Martha's Vineyard on to the diverse village of Woods Hole and this this the Shining Sea Bikeway. The other trail also ends in Woods Hole but goes along the Buzzards Bay... More

Great views with very few areas of bumpy pavement. It is 10+ miles from end to end, Old Silver Beach to Woods Hole. Even on hot sunny days there is sufficient shade to make the ride comfortable.

A year-round gem through Nature. From wooded areas to cranberry bogs, to lovely marsh and bay vistas, to the bird sanctuary and views of the sound, to the charming village of Woods Hole, this path offers a carefree and level walk or bike ride along a good part of the Buzzards Bay corridor. There are many places to stop to... More

The Shining Sea Bikeway is a jewel found in Falmouth, Cape Cod. If I ride South, I can get to a small beach , park my bike and enjoy the view. or continue to Woods Hole where I reward myself with a popover from Pie in the Sky. Riding North the view is of the Bay side of the Ocean... More

This a great bike ride. You can start at the Woods Hole parking area and go through the forest area to the beach. Its a no car ride. When you near the beach there are some road crossings. A word to the wise: there may be some head winds that make cycling a challange for a short area.

The Shining Sea Bikeway is a roughly 10 mile bike trail converted from an old railroad as there are so many. The trail is well maintained, with several places along it where you can rent bikes. It offers stretches without any view, but also long stretches with great views of the marshland and the sea. There are several explanatory markers... More

Our family visit this bike path at least once a year. We are all at very different fitness levels, and are all able to enjoy this path (read - this is a flat and easy bike path that meanders through some absolutely beautiful Area!). Not sure of the exact mileage, but we always end up popping into Wod Hole and... More

This path has been around for decades (1975) now and is a wonderful path to get up and out for the day without the cars and head to the beach or just for a walk. It runs from Woods Hole into Falmouth with lots of beach stops along the way. A really great bike path but expect it to be... More
