I walk the root exposed, rutted and rocky trails of Callahan park several times a month. The park is under maintained and seemingly totally unsupervised by Massachusetts Department of Conservation Resources, DCR. I've never seen anybody from DCR in well over 200+ times that I...More

You can enjoy this place in many ways -- casual walks, dog walks (when the other un,manageable dogs are not running wild!), hiking, biking, even on horseback. There is a mix of open space and woodlands -- your choice. It can be a bit crowded,...More

Callahan is a great spot to get outside for an hour with kids. Always a lot of dogs being walked which my 3 year old son loves. It's a great place to go for a casual walk or bike ride. If your looking for more...More

This is a hidden gem. Perfect for an afternoon stroll in any season, An occasional pond, a place to sit, shady paths and never crowded. Walk alone, stroll with a friend or bring a dog to run.

Here's where summer and winter fun can be had! Plenty of trails to use! Swimming spot in Summer and fall for dogs. Parking lot gets crowded on weekends and though parking in street is option sometimes Police due ticket cars.

A great place for riding trails on a fat bike some single track through the woods, plenty of free parking.

I come here 1-3 times a week after work for runs and mountain bikes in the spring to fall. Great network of trails. Northern half of park is a little more technical, southern end is more flat and rolling and dog friendly.

This park has been overrun by dogs that are not on leashes. Early mornings before 8:30 it's relatively safe to go without a big dog jumping on you. Parts of Callahan in the woods are beautiful and the rest has been ruined by dogs. I...More

We do a lot of five to ten miles countryside and woodland walks in the Uk so we really enjoyed exploring some of this woodland. We wore micro spikes a lot of the time, as the paths were solidly frozen and slippery in places. The...More

I ride Callahan State park about twice a week on a mountain bike. The longest loop trail is about 4.5 miles with enough hills for a good 45 minute cardio interval work out. It is not too technical, with few roots and rock gardens to...More
